Founded in 2004, Bear Valley Rescue is located in west-central Alberta, on 40 acres and is run by Mike and kathy Bartley.

Mission Statement:
- To save from slaughter usable and healthy horses and find them good homes
- To rescue injured or ailing animals from auctions and feedlots or abusive situations and rehabilitate them, or alleviate their suffering
- To educate the public on the plight of unwanted or aging horses and other animals
- To network with other rescue organizations and provide support through these networks for finding and placing distressed animals

They are always happy to accept donations of any kind including good quality hay. All donations are used 100% for the benefit of the horses and as a registered charity, Bear Valley can issue tax receipts for donations. They are also incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta.
